Thanks to the generous support of Buster’s Bait and Tackle and more than two dozen community partners, the lagoon will be teeming with 250 pounds of catfish. Among them, 25 lucky fish will be tagged, giving participants the chance to win special prizes. In addition, top anglers in various categories have a chance to win coveted prizes.

“This event holds a special place in our hearts,” said Huntsville Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “It’s a great way for families to relax and enjoy the simple pleasure of fishing.”

Registration starts at 7:00 am. The fishing rodeo starts at 8 a.m. and will be followed by the prize announcements at 10 a.m.

While children can get help setting their lines and handling their catch, they must hook and reel in their fish independently. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs, fishing equipment and bait to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.
