1. FC Kaiserslautern won the second match in a row on Saturday evening, beating Magdeburg 4-1 at the Fritz Walter Stadium. Daniel Hanslik got the Red Devils off to a fast start in front of 46,556 spectators, scoring twice in the 15th and 20th minutes, and FCK never looked back. Kenny Prince Redondo, making his first start as team captain, increased the score to 3-0, scoring in the 57th minute. Magdeburg reduced the lead with a goal in the 79th minute, but unlike previous matches this season, the Red Devils held on to their lead. Jan Elvedi scored from Almamy TourĂ©’s cross in the 83rd minute to put the game away. The victory moved Kaiserslautern to 14th place in the second division. But with two games to go, the situation is still tight in the league cellar. Kaiserslautern has 36 points, one ahead of Braunschweig and four ahead of Wiesbaden, who play on Sunday afternoon. With 31 points, Rostock still has a chance to avoid relegation. The Red Devils play Hertha at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday, before closing the season on May 19 against Braunschweig in a sold-out Fritz Walter Stadium.
