GOALKEEPER:

Maduka Okoye (Udinese)

Maduka Okoye remains the first choice goalkeeper at Udinese.

Despite Udinese’s recent problems, Okoye continued to impress in goal, and this was one of the reasons why the club managed to draw two of their five games in April. He has been named Completesports.com’s Nigeria Team of the Month for the second month in a row.

DEFENDERS:

Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)

Since recovering from the injury he suffered at the 2023 AFCON, Aina has returned to and retained the Nottingham Forest starting line-up.

He helped Forest kick off April with a 3-1 win against Fulham and was a thorn in the side of Man City captain Kyle Walker despite his side losing the match 2-0.

Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahçe)

Bright Osayi-Samuel played in all five matches that Fenerbahce played in April.

His brilliant defensive display for the Turkish giants saw them win three of their five games in the month under review (one draw, one loss).

Leon Balogun (Rangers)

The defender played in three of Rangers’ four games last month, recording two wins and one draw.

He was instrumental in helping Rangers beat Hearts to reach the Scottish Cup final – and earns a place in Completesports.com’s Nigeria Team of the Month for April.

Calvin Bassey (Fulham)

Bassey was an ever-present at the heart of Fulham’s defense in April as Marco Silva’s side picked up a win and a draw.

Played a key role as Fulham secured a hard-fought 2–0 win at West Ham United.

MIDFIELDERS:

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester)

Ndidi scored two goals last month to take his championship tally to four.

The highlight of his impressive performance in the past month was helping Leicester beat Preston 3-0, confirming the Foxes as champions of the English Second Division.

Raphaël Onyedika (Club Brugge)

Scored three goals in the seven games he played for Club Brugge, with the club winning six games (one draw).

Among the three goals he scored in April was a brace in the 3-1 win against Anderlecht.

Alex Iwobi (Fulham)

Iwobi provided one of the assists in Fulham’s 2-0 win against West Ham United.

FORWARD:

Victor Osimhen (Napoli)

The reigning African Player of the Year earns a spot in Completesports.com’s Nigeria Team of the Month after scoring three goals in four league games for Napoli in April.

His three goals last month mean Osimhen has now scored 14 goals in 22 Serie A games this season.

Cyriel Dessers (Rangers)

It was a memorable April for Cyriel Dessers as he scored three goals and provided an assist for Rangers.

Of the three goals he scored, two were against Hearts, taking Rangers to the Scottish Cup final.

Ademola Lookman (Atalanta)

It was an April to remember for Ademola Lookman as he scored two goals and also provided four assists.

He picked up the two assists in the 2–1 win over Monza, and also scored and had an assist in the 4–1 win against Fiorentina in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final.
