Mahindra launches the entry-level version of the 7-seater XUV700, check out the details

In a bid to attract more customers to the king-size SUV XUV700, top automaker Mahindra has launched a cost-effective variant called MX with seven seats.

It has been launched at a starting price of Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more affordable than the Rs 3 lakh AX3 7-seater.

Color options

The upholstery is available in five color options: Dazzling red, Everest white, Midnight black, Red Rage and Napoli Black. The vehicle generally has the same specifications as the younger MX-5 seater. However, it cost Rs 40,000 less compared to the latest seven-seater version.

Something new?

The newly launched variant comes with the same style statement as the AX3 7-seater and offers some of the top features, LED DRLs, an identical headlight setup, huge grilles at the front and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment touchscreen, backed by all car connect technology and wireless Android, Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The vehicle also comes with multiple USB ports, making it easy for the occupants to charge their gadgets when the four-wheeler is on the road. The SUV will not be equipped with alloy wheels, fog lamps and chrome trim in the windows.

Top features

Within the aforementioned price range, the technology-laden equipment has a lot to offer on board. It gets four speakers, tilt multifunction steering, center armrest with decent sized storage, air conditioning vents, four-passenger headrests, electric ORVMs, follow-me-home headlamps, and the list goes on.

Engine and power

Under the hood, the newly launched XUV700 MX 7-seater uses a familiar 2.2-litre diesel engine, which generates a maximum power of 153 PS. It is the same unit used in the five-seater and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
