Seven people were injured in a shooting in Long Beach, authorities said.

According to Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Alexis Lauro, the shooting happened Saturday around 11:15 p.m. near South Street and Paramount Boulevard.

Four of the victims were in critical condition and three had non-life-threatening injuries, Lauro said. Some victims were taken to hospitals in private vehicles.

No suspect information was available, she said. The shooter or shooters fled the scene before officers arrived.

The motive was unknown, Lauro said.

OC Hawk and OnScene.TV, video news agencies, reported that numerous shell casings were found on the street and in the parking lot of a nightclub on South Street.

Press-Telegram staff contributed to this report.
